Meet the Kindergarten Team
Mrs. Cox
HI am very happy to be starting my 7Th year at Copper Creek and am proud to be working alongside the kindest, most caring staff! I have been working in education since 1998 in both administration and in the classroom. I have an AA-Liberal Arts from Victor Valley College, CA., a BA-Political Science/International Relations from Chico State, and a MA-Early Childhood Education from Grand Canyon University. I enjoy reading and traveling. I look forward to another great year! Go Bobcats!
Mrs. Green
My name is Rebecca Green. I have been teaching since August 1995 and I have been teaching at Copper Creek Elementary since August 1999. I have taught special education (1st - 6th grade), kindergarten, first grade, and second grade in the Deer Valley Unified School District. I have also taught in the Paradise Valley School District (first, second, and third grade). I have also taken several classes on teaching gifted students.
I am originally from Lakewood, Colorado. I moved out to Arizona to marry my husband, Brian. We have two delightful sons named David (born in 2003) and Christopher (born in 2008). If I am not working on things for school I am enjoying time being a wife and mother!
My philosophy is that all kids want to learn and it is my job is to teach my students to love learning and want to be lifelong learners. My goal is that every student who comes through my classroom feels good about themselves and reaches their fullest potential.
I love teaching kindergarten here at Copper Creek because of my wonderful teammates as we plan to make lessons focused on our young learners needs. I strive for excitement of learning with fun and hands-on activities to meet the Kindergarten state standards.
Mrs. Hoelzen
You and your child will have so much fun learning this year! Please come in and volunteer in the classroom to see how much learning is taking place every minute!
My teaching revolves around themes that I incorporate all the disciplines each day. Each theme has my children learning reading, writing, math, social studies, the arts, science and health, and technology. Some of our themes include apples, bears, pumpkins, plants, animals, holidays and customs from other countries, life cycles, and numerous others."Being There" experiences include The Phoenix Children's Museum, Snow Day on our playground, and a Pumpkin Patch!
I have 28 years experience in early childhood, have a I am the Gifted Cluster teacher for kindergarten.
I have been at Copper Creek for the past 21 years in Room 4 teaching Kindergarten. I love my students, families, staff and community where I work. I can't imagine working anywhere else but Copper Creek. I have the highest expectations for all my students and provide the best hands-on learning experiences possible. Kindergarten is the best!
