Meet the 3rd Grade Team
Ms. Crenshaw
Hello, my name is Heather Crenshaw. This year will be my 20th year teaching. I have taught first and third grade. I received my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Arizona State University, and I am an Arizona Native. This is my seventh year at Copper Creek! I taught 3rd grade at West Wing for one year, and was in the Peoria School District prior to West Wing. I have a 13 year old son, who is in 8th grade at Hillcrest. He attended Copper Creek from Kinder - 6th Grade. I have been thrilled with my son's educational experience at Copper Creek, so I was delighted to join the Copper Creek family as a teacher!
I come from a family of educators. I always knew growing up that I would become a teacher one day. I have a passion for teaching because it brings me so much joy to watch my students learn and grow each day. We shall become a classroom community, working together as teaching partners, so your child succeeds and embraces the love for learning. I look forward to getting to know you and your child to make this an incredible year!
When I am not at school, I am running my handmade jewelry and crystal business. I also love spending time with my family, hiking all over this beautiful state and practicing yoga. Namaste!
Ms. Mans
My name is Karen Mans and I have been teaching for 23 years. I graduated from Southwestern College with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a minor in communication. I have taught first grade for 19 years and am excited to have moved up, expanding my knowledge and getting to teach 3rd graders. I have a S.T.E.M. background and experience in the gifted classroom. I come from a family of educators and feel teaching is my second nature.
I believe all children have the right and desire to learn. I believe in fostering a positive environment where students can feel safe and are free to take chances. My students are taught rights and responsibilities through my "can do" philosophy, classroom expectations and also through our school wide PBIS program. I believe in a goal-centered approach to learning, analyzing and reflecting on data.
I am so thrilled to be here at Copper Creek and to be part of an A+ school. I have found a home with a friendly and supportive community that have become my "family". I am proud to be part of a school focused on the specific needs of students and who focus on the social and emotional behaviors in children through our Sanford Harmony program. I'm really excited to be part of the 3rd grade team and look forward to another amazing year!
Ms. Dosch
Hello, my name is Lexi Dosch and this is my 5th year teaching in the Deer Valley School District and third year at Copper Creek. I received my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University. I grew up in DVUSD from Elementary School through High School. I was so impressed by the education I received, which is why I am thrilled to be teaching here.
I have always wanted to be a teacher since I was young. I believe in fostering a positive learning environment where students feel safe and confident in reaching their full potential. I believe in setting goals and working towards achieving them. I can’t wait to see all the students grow and flourish this year.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy traveling, reading, and spending time with my family and friends. I look forward to getting to know you and your child and making this the best year yet!
Mrs. Quinn
My name is Sara Quinn and I'm so blessed to be a teacher in the Deer Valley School District. Teaching is my passion and I can't imagine doing anything else. It's my desire to educate and help students to become successful. I believe in every child and know they can achieve what their heart desires with a little hard work and dedication!
I graduated from Concordia University in Irvine, CA with my bachelors degree in liberal studies. I continued on to receive my teaching certificate in 2007. After graduating I moved to Arizona and began my teaching career as a fourth grade teacher. In 2009 I took a position teaching third grade at a local charter school. In 2012 I began teaching in the Chandler Unified School District where I taught four years of self contained gifted education and then moved into a general education classroom for the next four years. I have taught four years at Canyon Springs Stem academy and am very excited to be joining the Copper Creek family this year!
My goal as an educator is not to just have students achieve academic excellence, but to prepare each child for the future. Ultimately, I want students to leave my classroom with life-long skills and knowledge on how to be a better leader, and an all around amazing person. I believe in working together and maintaining a positive attitude at all times. School is not just about the information learned, but it is also about the relationships and connections that we make.
My husband Ricky and I have two sons, Bryson and Colton. They keep us very busy with sports and activities, however when we have time we love heading to the lake to enjoy some wakeboarding and wakesurfing. As a family, we also enjoy hiking, paddle-boarding, riding bikes, and being outdoors.
I look forward to partnering with you to make 3rd grade an incredible year for your child.
