Speech Department

Welcome! My name is Carolyn Langford, and I've been the Speech-Language Pathologist at Copper Creek Elementary since 2013. Originally from upstate New York, I earned my bachelor's degree at the University at Buffalo (SUNY Buffalo) and my master's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Syracuse University. After beginning my career in New York, I moved to Phoenix in 2001 and have happily called Arizona home ever since. I definitely don't miss the snow!

Before joining Deer Valley Unified School District in 2011, I spent ten years providing speech-language services to students throughout the Valley through a contract agency. I love helping students develop the communication skills and confidence they need to succeed both in the classroom and beyond. Partnering with families and teachers to help every student reach their full potential is one of the most rewarding parts of my job.

Outside of school, my husband and I are enjoying this new chapter as empty nesters. Our three adult children all live in the Phoenix area, and we enjoy traveling, experiencing new places, and creating lasting memories together.

Hi, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Susan Ramirez.  This will be my 16th year as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant and my 14th year at Copper Creek.  My husband and I are both natives of Arizona and love the state we live in!  We have three children, all married, and are lucky to have five beautiful grandchildren.  I love my job because I have a true passion for children and helping them with their communication skills.  I love how my job lets me be creative and play with children of all ages and abilities, all while helping them reach their full potential.  I love my job!
