Principal Christina Myers

I'm thrilled to continue to serve as your Copper Creek Elementary School Principal! My journey with Copper Creek runs deep. I've had the privilege of serving this community as a Special Education Teacher, Third Grade Teacher, Reading Specialist, and Dean. My own children, now 19 and 24, also benefited from their time at Copper Creek, receiving a strong educational foundation. With over 30 years in education, my focus has always been on providing the best possible learning experience for every child. I believe in the power of collaboration, fostering strong relationships with parents, students, staff, and the community.
I'm excited to continue building upon our existing connections and create new ones. Feel free to reach out via email, stop by the office, or say hello around the community. Together, we can help our students reach their full potential.
Dean - Jenniffer Frugone

I’m excited to join the Copper Creek family and officially become a Bobcat! With over 20 years of experience in DVUSD, I’ve had the opportunity to teach in a variety of settings—from general education in 3rd, 5th, and 6th grades to special education across K–8, supporting students with a wide range of exceptional abilities.
Education is truly my passion, and I’ve always been a strong advocate for children, prioritizing their needs, well-being, and success in all that I do. Building meaningful relationships with students and families is at the heart of my approach, and keeping students first is my top priority.
As a proud DVUSD parent, with all three of my children attending DVUSD schools—and my daughter recently graduating from Sandra Day O’Connor High School, I feel deeply connected to this district both personally and professionally. I’m excited for this new chapter and grateful to continue growing within a community that feels like home.

After I retired in 2018, I came to Copper Creek as a substitute and fell in love with the staff, students and parent community. The next school year will mark the sixth year of my “unretirement”, so I guess that I really LOVE Copper Creek! I want you to know that it is my absolute privilege to be entrusted with the medical care of your children during the school day.
I have been a registered nurse for 45 years. Prior to my career in school health, I was an emergency room, OB and psychiatric nurse. I have been in school health and public education for 38 years, 20 of which have been in Deer Valley. Although my school health experience has been in high school, middle and elementary schools, my favorite place is with the “littles” and I take your trust in their care very seriously.
More About Me Personally:
My husband Joe and I have been married for 45 years. We have two married children, three grandchildren and four grand dogs 😊 At school I am known by students as “Nurse Sara” but at home, it’s “Grammy” and at our house, it’s all about board games, the pool, baseball or football and our faith.
I’m also a travel bug who still has 5 states to go before I’ve been to all 50. The only thing that I like better than taking a trip, is planning one! We camp, we cruise and we love a great road trip.
Hopefully, you know me a bit better now. My door is always open to parents regarding questions or concerns about your child’s health, or just to say hello!
School Psychologist Megan Olson

My name is Megan Olson, and I’m thrilled to be returning for my second year as the School Psychologist here at Copper Creek—once a Bobcat, always a Bobcat! In addition to supporting our amazing students and staff on campus, I also serve on the district’s Preschool and Autism evaluation teams.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Social Justice from the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh, and went on to receive both my Master’s and Education Specialist degrees in School Psychology from Northern Arizona University.
A little about me...
I’m originally from a small town in Wisconsin—Go Pack Go! Fun fact: my hometown is the only place in the U.S. that makes Limburger cheese. Outside of work, I love hiking, reading, and spending time with my two energetic pups, Indie (a Border Collie/Cattle Dog mix) and Ollie (a Cattle Dog).
I’m so excited for another great year at Copper Creek and look forward to continuing to support our students, families, and staff!
School Counselor Giovanna McDermott

"As the counselor at Copper Creek Elementary School, I look forward to partnering with you and your child this year. I will be working closely with our principal, Dean, school psychologist, and teachers to determine what needs are in the best interest of students.
My background includes having taught high school English, ESL, and worked as a reading specialist. My counseling background was with high school, middle school and the Dept. of Juvenile Corrections. During my career I have continued to teach both critical reading and ESL classes for Phoenix College.
Some of the services offered this school year are small groups; individual counseling, school related issues, and lessons emphasizing personal and social awareness. While my role does not include discipline, I will assist with behavior strategies for positive outcomes.
I am happy to be part of Copper Creek’s team where we are dedicated to helping children succeed socially, emotionally, and academically."
